Luis Asali has over 20 years of experience in resolving highly complex commercial disputes and has been a managing partner at Asali since its founding in 2012. He has designed winning strategies for over 300 disputes throughout his career.
Luis has experience in civil, commercial, administrative, and constitutional litigation and has successfully litigated cases in local and federal courts at all levels, including the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice. His practice areas include the financial, real estate, banking, telecommunications, entertainment, and aeronautical industries. Luis routinely handles disputes involving a wide variety of legal issues, but he is particularly skilled in matters relating to contractual and tort liability, and the enforcement and lifting of injunctions.
Luis has also represented national and international clients in arbitrations under ICC, LCIA, CAM, CANACO, and UNCITRAL rules. He has also served as an expert witness on Mexican law before foreign courts. As a co-founder of the National Strategic Litigation Council, a non-governmental organization dedicated to human rights defense, democracy, and legality through strategic litigation, Luis has led various initiatives to promote the rule of law in Mexico.
Luis graduated with three honorific mentions from Escuela Libre de Derecho and has over 15 years of academic and teaching experience in some of Mexico’s most prestigious universities, such as Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), Escuela Libre de Derecho, and Universidad Panamericana.
