Juan Pablo is an associate of Asali, which he joined in 2018. Juan Pablo’s practice is focused on litigation and arbitration proceedings related to the banking, real estate, food and beverages, security technology and waste management industries.

Juan Pablo has been actively involved in complex matters before local and federal courts, as well as ICC, LCIA, CANACO and CAM arbitrations and judicial proceedings arising therefrom. Juan Pablo successfully represented a landfill management company in a USD 10 million dispute arising from the deposit and processing of waste from the Mexico City Government. Currently, Juan Pablo represents one of the most important real estate companies in Mexico in a complex dispute with a value in excess of USD 85 million arising from differences in the interpretation of an earn out clause for the calculation of the sale price of a shopping mall caused by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Juan Pablo graduated summa cum laude from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). He is a professor of civil oral proceedings at ITAM. Juan Pablo is fluent in Spanish and English.

Juan Pablo currently acts as a member of the editorial board of a publishing house specializing in academic legal texts, where he has collaborated with the drafting, editing, and publication of several books. He recently published his first book analyzing the tax authorities’ attributions from a constitutional perspective.
