Jorge has been a partner of the firm since its foundation in 2012. In his career of more than 20 years, Jorge has represented national and international clients in the resolution and prevention of commercial disputes, as well as in complex insolvency and restructuring proceedings.
Jorge currently leads disputes related to a wide array of industries, such as real estate, maritime, finance, banking, renewable energy, infrastructure and technology. Jorge also leads several arbitration proceedings conducted under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, CAM, CANACO, and HKIAC, on behalf of major multinational companies.
In addition to his extensive litigation experience, Jorge has been involved in major contract negotiations of the highest complexity in real estate, finance, maritime, and infrastructure matters, among others. He has also represented major players in the banking industry in several insolvency proceedings in Mexico.
Jorge has been appointed as an expert witness in Mexican bankruptcy and administrative law before ICSID tribunals in investor-state disputes and has also acted as a party-appointed arbitrator in arbitration proceedings under ICC rules.
Jorge graduated summa cum laude from Escuela Libre de Derecho and holds an L.L.M. from Harvard Law School.
Jorge has been recognized in the practice of Arbitration and Litigation by prestigious publications such as Chambers and Partners Latin America, Leaders League, Who’s Who Legal Mexico, Best Lawyers and Benchmark Litigation. According to Who’s Who Legal Mexico, Jorge “is recognized for his appropriate handling of complex contractual disputes in the Latin American region.”
