Daniela joined the firm in 2016 as a senior associate.

She specializes in restructuring, commercial bankruptcy, and litigation in commercial and administrative matters.

She has participated in numerous insolvency proceedings representing creditors and companies from different sectors. As part of her practice in this area, she has defended the interests of a syndicated loan for more than one billion pesos, which ended with a bankruptcy agreement and the payment of the credits to the creditor banks. Daniela has also annulled fraudulent credits for more than 170 million pesos in bankruptcy proceedings and has managed to stop the recognition of credits for more than one billion pesos of a company declared in bankruptcy for not meeting the requirements of the law.

Under Daniela’s leadership, the defense of related copyrights of international record companies with a presence in Mexico has achieved the first protective precedents in this matter. This success should reassure you of her ability to protect your intellectual property. She has also successfully defended the honor of a Mexican scientist of international stature regarding one of her most important inventions in nanotechnology. Daniela has jointly participated in the protection of the interests of a transnational entertainment and telecommunications company against acts of the IFT in connection with a merger with global impact.

She is currently handling a civil liability claim against a leading American company in structural engineering, representing the collective system of the Metro of the second largest city in Mexico, for a contingency exceeding 700 million pesos.

In 2019, at the International Court of Arbitration ICC, based in Paris, he assisted in the administration of arbitrations and cooperated closely in a project of the Direction, Arbitration & ADR and Europe. She also participated in the review of the Spanish translation of texts on costs and of the reports of States and State entities submitted in that year (2019), obtaining a mention for her collaboration.

Prior to joining Asali, Daniela was part of the commercial litigation area of a renowned law firm. Her professional career includes significant experience in public service in energy and prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism (PLD/FT). During her time at the CNBV, she was an integral part of the committees that designed the AML/CFT certification exam and actively participated in the Financial Reform of 2014 with proposals that are now part of the Mexican financial laws in force. Daniela was also in charge of analyzing the information provided by FinCEN and conducting investigative visits to financial entities as part of the cooperation process with such authority.

Daniela has collaborated in texts on insolvency matters and has been a speaker in national and international forums on AML/CFT.

Daniela is a lawyer who graduated from the Escuela Libre de Derecho with honors and studied for a master’s degree in law at the same institution.
